Massage involves the manipulation of soft tissues in muscles, tendons and ligaments. This helps relieve tension in the tissues, promoting relaxation and improved circulation. By stimulating and relaxing the muscles, we can move more freely and breathe more deeply.

Swedish massage builds on techniques of ancient Chinese doctors, brought to the Western World in the early 19th Century by a fencing master from Sweden. It consists of a series of 4 basic movements, and has been shown to help reduce muscle pain, joint stiffness and increase general wellbeing.
